This celebration includes a variety of events that embrace Steamboat's western heritage and highlight our tradition of winter sports.

Mention a parade and fireworks and people say that’s typical. Talk about adults on shovels being pulled down main street behind horses or skiers jumping through fiery hoops and people stop to listen. In Steamboat Springs we do things differently, and with the oldest, continuous Winter Carnival west of the Mississippi, this event is certainly no different.

Winter Carnival was started by the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club (SSWSC) as a way to help residents cope with cabin fever during the height of the Colorado winter season.

The event continues to this day as a way to celebrate winter; as a reason for neighbors to gather; and as an opportunity for everyone to experience a piece of Ski Town USA® history and tradition.

This unique event includes everything from kids pulled on skis behind horses down a snow-covered main street, to the Lighted Man at the Night Show Extravaganza who's battery-powered suit weighs 70 pounds.

Celebrate the season at a Steamboat-style Oktoberfest including Rocky Mountain beer, local food specialties and festivities unique to Steamboat Springs.

We’re taking an Oktoberfest and stamping it with Steamboat’s western brand. No German beer here, just good ol’ Colorado brewed ale, food and festivities.

FRIDAY BEER STROLL

The weekend kicks off on Friday. Head downtown and stroll to participating restaurants to taste a variety of seasonal and local beers. This event is a fundraiser for the Young Professionals Network.

Oktoberwest Beer And Food

SATURDAY BEER GARDEN AND BEEF COOK-OFF

Saturday’s event takes place in Gondola Square at the Steamboat Mountain Village. Come listen to live music, taste all the beef you can eat at the cook-off and drink plenty of regional beers in the beer garden.

I Love Beef Cook Off

Sample Colorado Beef from Steamboat’s finest restaurants; as they compete for the winner of the I Love Beef Cook Off. Attendees will taste dishes from each restaurant and cast their vote for their favorite!

Beer Garden

The Beer Garden will feature over 45 Rocky Mountain Brewers, each sampling 2 kinds of brew. Each attendee receives a commemorative mug with the purchase of the Beer Garden ticket.

Indulge in the delights of all your senses at the Steamboat All Arts Festival, where symphonic sounds fill the mountain air, culinary delights ignite the taste buds and visual creations burst with color and originality in the mountain town of Steamboat Springs, Colorado.

A collaborative event, the All Arts Festival encompasses the rich culture of Steamboat’s visual, music, and performance arts whilst featuring nationally-renowned artists in an idyllic mountain setting.
